Facts and Perspectives on Coronavirus

Facts and Perspectives on Coronavirus There is a great deal of information circulating about the Coronavirus (aka COVID-19). Unfortunately, it is being politicized by both the right and the left. The left is focusing on and emphasizing the impact the virus is having and will continue to have on the lives affected directly, while treating more lightly its impact on the economy. The right seems to be attempting to minimize the truth of its potential to cause massive deaths in order to try and lessen the panic and impact it is having on the economy. N.T. Wright Talks about Heaven and The Kingdom

I scanned an interview that N.T. Wright recently had with Bible Study Magazine which is published by Faithlife, formerly known as Logos. Since the magazine was mailed to me for free by Logos (I don’t have a subscription) I think I’m OK with scanning this article for others to read. Besides, if it impacts you the way it did me, you’ll end up buying his book, which is very likely why he gave the interview. There’s some great information in this interview. Using a Cane for Balance

Background In the past year i’ve fallen 4 times. The first time was while i was walking Charlie. I tripped over a huge uplifted crack in the sidewalk caused by tree roots. Where i grew up, there were tons of those kinds of cracks in sidewalks and i learned how to walk over them without falling as a child. However, aging takes a toll, and i’m no longer as agile and coordinated as i was many many years ago. I didn’t break anything, but i did bruise and scrape up my knees and hands. The second time i tripped over […]

Political and Theological Thoughts

I originally wrote this post in 2016 during the presidential campaign, but i never posted it. I’ve tweaked it just a bit, and finally built up enough courage to post it now that we are again looking at another election. In this crazy time of Christians vocally endorsing and advocating politicians as the only hope for our country or vilifying other politicians as the destroyers of our country, i’d like for us all to take a large step back for a more theological and Jesus based perspective on politics. This blog post will not mention a single candidate in any […]

Bob Dylan’s “Trouble No More” Bootleg Vol. 13

In November 2017, Bob Dylan released Volume 13 of his bootleg series. The deluxe version was made up of 8 CD’s and a DVD all containing previously unreleased rehearsal takes during the making of his three gospel albums and several CD’s of recordings of live concerts from the tours during that period. My wife got me that deluxe set of “Trouble No More” for my birthday in 2017. I’ve greatly enjoyed listening to all the music from this very exhaustive collection. The deluxe edition also has 2 books included. In one of the books is a review of the entire […]
